Welcome!
The Rhoads lab studies how gene expression is regulated in response to nutrient availability and how this subsequently affects downstream metabolic function. We also study how this regulation affects the biology of aging, where impaired metabolic function is an early hallmark of the aging process.
We use classical, hypothesis-driven biochemical and molecular biology techniques in cell/tissue culture and mammalian models, along with larger-scale systems biology approaches to investigate metabolic regulation and function.
